Friends of Hearst Castle--"Enchanted Evening, A Brush of Elegance; A Stroke of Genius", September 27, 2008
Road to Enchantment, 24 " x 24 ", oil on linen
Libby was asked to paint at Hearst Castle this year to create a landscape painting with Hearst Castle in it. After painting on location this summer, she chose to paint with the original road leading up to the Castle. "Besides being an absolutely beautiful area to paint, with many wonderful paintings to be made, the summer golds and the old road leading up to the Castle caught my heart". The painting will be sold at auction during the Enchanted Evening at Hearst Castle celebrating the castle's Golden Anniversary - 50 years of public tours. California Missions, Roger's Gardens Fine Art Gallery October 17, 2008-January 8, 2009. Roger's Gardens will celebrate the historic network of missions with a series of recent plein air art works in its new Fine Art Gallery. 2301 San Joaquin Hills Road, Corona del Mar, CA www.rogersgardens.com.
- Learning and Product Expo: Art, Pasadena, CA, October 23-26, 2008. Libby will be teaching two 3-hour classes on plein air painting the landscape. A booksigning will take place immediately following each class.

Workshops
The two week-long workshops in Los Osos this past July were extraordinary! Fun (and lots of hard work) were had by all. We were happy that the air quality had improved dramatically in time for class since in recent weeks we had ash falling due to the state's many fires. Plans are being made for the 2009 workshops which will include Fallbrook, CA, Farmington, New Mexico, and Los Osos, CA. We'll post the dates as soon as we confirm them, so please check back!
